About
Menura is a small tool for saving video, audio, and photos. Paste a link, pick a quality, and the file lands in your downloads folder. You can also convert files you already have to other formats. No sign up, no ads.
Runs on your device
All the processing happens in your browser. Menura joins the video and audio into one file on your device, not on our server.
Converting works the same way. Your files are read and converted in your browser, and they’re never uploaded.
That means speed depends on your device and connection. On an older phone, a long or high quality video may take a while.
Privacy
Menura has no accounts and no database. The links you paste and the files you save stay in your browser, so there’s nothing about you for us to keep.
Browsers can’t reach most video sites directly, so downloads pass through a relay on our server. The relay doesn’t store anything it passes along.
We use anonymous analytics to count visitors. It doesn’t tell us who you are or what you download.
The name
Menura is the scientific name of the lyrebird, an Australian bird that can copy almost any sound it hears, from other birds to camera shutters. That felt like a good name for a tool that saves video and audio.
Use it kindly
Please save things you have the right to keep, like your own uploads, Creative Commons work, or videos the creator is happy to share. If you love what someone makes, support them.
A note on YouTube
YouTube updates its site often, and some updates can stop YouTube downloads from working for a while. When that happens, we work on a fix as soon as we can.
Other sites aren’t affected. If a YouTube link fails, try again later or let us know on Discord.
Community
Have a question, found a link that doesn’t work, or want to suggest a feature? Come say hi on Discord.
Who makes it
Menura is made by nostacks. If it saved you some time, you can help keep it running.
